Noise and sound reduction absorption and attenuation for commercial and industrial applications – read on for solutions to problems !

Problem

Low frequency noise (60-500Hz) is common to many industrial processes and equipment, yet at the same time, extremely difficult to absorb. The long wave lengths can reverberate in an enclosed space and intensify to dangerous levels, or can travel long distances with minimal attenuation, causing disruption to surrounding areas.
Examples of Low Frequency Noise

Pumps, burners, boilers, fans, compressors, air conditioners, ventilation plant, electrical insulation, blasting, bass music, road, rail and air traffic, cooling towers, flares, turbines, wind farms, and general heavy industry.

Effects of Low Frequency Noise

Annoyance, stress, irritation, unease, lack of concentration and attention, memory retention loss, fatigue, headaches, nausea, disturbed sleep patterns

Technology

Quiet Acoustic panels are low frequency resonators, hollow passive panels that are engineered to vibrate within any specific low frequency bands, including human speech, base music, and industrial machines and equipment (60-500Hz). Contrary to common understanding, you cannot absorb low frequency noise effectively. You need to cancel the sound waves by flipping them back on themselves. Resonators are the only effective way of targeting and eliminating low frequency noise reverberation and transmission.

Design

Quiet Acoustics industrial style resonators are made from 100% Aluminium honeycomb, sandwiched between Aluminium Skins, with one side containing micro perforations. Each honeycomb cell and perforation forms a resonator, with 20,000 cells per sheets coalescing to form one large resonant wave front, canceling low frequency waves when they contact the panel. The 2400 x 1200mm panels handle over 1000kg of flexural capacity, meet fire, and anti- corrosion specifications to US military (MIL) standards, and is DNV Oil & Gas quality assured.

Service

Ambisol’s product partner, Quiet Acoustic, hasĀ  engineers that can assist free of charge in determining the level, and frequency response of your noise problem, and can assist with the correct placement and design of your resonator noise barriers for maximum transmission loss or reverberation decay. If you have an industrial noise problem you would like fixed, we’d love to help!
