Insulation Audits – Inspect your roof now !

nhceilinginsulation-inspection1

After the suspension of the Home Insulation Program, home owners are increasingly concerned about the quality of the insulation that has been installed in their roof space.

The safe installation has been the primary concern along with the quality of product being installed.

The Government has intimated that they will be conducting insulation audits to check installers work. It is assumed that these will be random audits or homeowners will need to call the Environment Department to request an inspection. This could take months or longer.

Ambisol has a team of trained inspectors that can visit your home to provide you a written insulation audit to highlight any issues that may be apparent on your roof space.

Following your insulation audit Ambisol can suggest remedial action and assist you with any rectification of any works.

For further information please call our service team on 1300 844 341.

Roof Vents – Make you insulation work better

Installing insulation will improve your home comfort and make you home more energy efficient. This has been well documented and with the Federal Government’s free insulation program many people have taken advantage of the offer.

In order to make your insulation even more effective Ambisol recommends installing roof vents to help manage these two instances.  -:

1. Heat. Roof space temperatures, during the warmer months, can reach a staggering 60°C. Heat radiates downwards causing discomfort in living areas and forces air conditioners to work harder. Even the effectiveness of ceiling insulation can be reduced by the additional heat load.
2. Moisture. During the colder months, water vapour from showers and cooking is drawn into roof spaces and can condense to form up to 12 litres of moisture per day. This can render insulation ineffective, cause mildew on walls and ceilings and contribute to a damp environment.

Ambisol recommends installing Edmonds – Supavents. These come in 16 different colours and can be installed on tiled roofs by Ambisol installers.
